The Matrix Reloaded: In the second film of the Matrix trilogy we find Neo growing stronger as he comes to understand his powers. With Zion about to be overwhelmed by the Machine Army, Neo and his friends re-enter the Matrix to battle the forces that repress them. If he is not successful, the Machine Army will destroy Zion.
Dan in Real Life: Friendly comedy-drama of newspaper columnist Dan (Carell), the doting although harried single dad of 3 baby girls. While the family heads off to the Northeast for a holy day at his parents' seaside home, this widowed dad impulsively meets somebody (Binoche) who appears to be exact for him. The family reunion is replete with family member rivalries, secrets, and resentments. This film manages to ascend above recognizable sitcom level to be an amusing take on middle-aged affairs of the heart. Cast includes Steve Carell, Juliette Binoche, Dane Chef, Dianne West, John Mahoney, Alison Pill, Emily Obtuse, Amy Ryan, Norbert Leo Butz, and Jessica Hecht. (98 minutes, 2007)
Siesta: Sky diver Barkin ends up disheveled and semi-nude in Spain via Mortality Valley; her succeeding odyssey has something to do with kill which might truly be a fantasy and a taxi driver with rugged teeth who keeps trying to rape her. So-hailed experimental film is a throwback to some of the more unclear attempts of the 196O's. Music score by Miles Davis. Barkin and Byrne later wedded in genuine life. Cast includes Ellen Barkin, Gabriel Byrne, Jodie Foster, Martin Sheen, Grace Jones, Julian Sands, and Isabella Rossellini. (97 minutes, 1987)

Mrs. Doubtfire: Warm-gratifying comedy with earnest overtones in reference to a free soul whose spouse divorces him after fourteen years. He couldn't bear being split apart from his 3 babies, so he camouflages himself as a dowdy British housekeeper (under an Oscar quality makeup job) and gets himself employed to look after them. Williams is in top form, and director Columbus keeps tale and characters moderately practical in an effort to drive home a humanistic message. Cast includes Robin Williams, Sally Territory, Pierce Brosnan, Harvey Fierstein, Polly Holliday, Lisa Jakob, Matthew Lawrence, and Mara Wilson. (125 minutes, 1993)
